Credition and perception
A revival and a demonstration of the Credition model
10 years of Credition Research and its practical relevance
The occasion:
The tenth anniversary of the Credition Research project should also be an occasion to celebrate - especially for the employees who, as the Congress Crew, have significantly supported the success of the scientific discussions over all these years. However, the aim was not only to celebrate, but also to highlight the progress made in credition research.
Background to the presentation of the credition communication model:
Some time ago, a whole group of female pharmacy students attended one of my courses on "Faith and Credition" as a free elective. In the extremely lively seminar, they brought up the idea that knowledge about creditions could also be used for dating. They even considered writing an article for a magazine like VOGUE or STEIRERIN. This idea was not realised, but some time later PROFIL published an article entitled "Flirting with Credition".
The presentation idea:
Two protagonists were recruited from the seminar participants to give a presentation on the application of the Credition communication model. Both were familiar with the model. They should now apply it to the question: How does the other person want to appear? They were given a choice of costume jewellery, but this was only introduced during the presentation. Based on their knowledge from the seminar, they both realised that the question had to be made more precise: What do I think the other person wants to look like? And they knew that the perception and assessment of others has a lot to do with creditions.
Prof Hannes Hick
The combination of traditions and technology is fascinating. The fact that technology also has to do with the human factor is an aspect that can facilitate access to technical professions and technical studies. And so I am delighted that the ten-year revival for those who have contributed to the success of the Structure of Credition congresses in Graz over the years as the congress crew will take place in the CreditionLab at the Institute of Machine Elements and Development Methodology (IME). This is also an ideal opportunity to promote Graz University of Technology. We can also publicise our institute to young people and link it to the topic of "Technology as an opportunity for young women". At the same time, the event offers a welcome opportunity for young people to come into contact with representatives from technology, business and universities. Welcome!
Prof Hans-Ferdinand Angel
At the Institute of Machine Elements and Development Methodology (IME), initial experience has been gathered on how the Credition communication model can be used as a tool for technical decision-making. During the lively discussions in the workshops at the institute, it became clear time and again that the model can also be used outside of technical contexts. These can even be situations that have everyday significance for young people. It is a great opportunity to simulate such a situation, which may be relevant to young people in their everyday lives, as part of the 10th anniversary revival event at the IME. Many thanks to Prof Dr Hannes Hick.
The protagonist
When we pharmacy students attended Prof Angel's seminar at the time, we had no idea what to expect. But that quickly changed, and the word "credition", which had been unknown to us until then, began to exert an almost breathtaking fascination. All participants were also invited to take part in a Structure of Credition congress and to join the crew. The basic knowledge of the Credition model inspired us and we developed the most adventurous ideas. One of them was based on the realisation that creditions also play a role in dating.
When Prof Angel told me about his plans to organise a revival for us Crew members and to give a presentation of the Credition model at the Technical University, I was immediately enthusiastic. Then I picked up the phone and contacted the secretary of the institute.
The protagonist
I was surprised by the call from the institute secretary. Credition? After some hesitation, I finally accepted the enquiry because I remembered some basic knowledge about credition from a course. It was therefore an opportunity to refresh and deepen my knowledge of the credition process. The fact that the event was also to take place at the CreditionLab of the Technical University was an additional incentive. When does a student enrolled at Karl Franzens University ever get to visit the Technical University?
